Kanazawa City, formerly the center of Kaga Domain, is a miraculous castle town that has escaped the ravages of war for over 400 years. It is located on the coast of Honshu (Japan's main island), but on the coast, facing the Sea of Japan, in the center of Ishikawa Prefecture. The city itself can truly be called a living museum. At the "Kaga Yuzen Lantern Floating Ceremony," held on the evening of the first day (Friday), approximately 600 lanterns floated down the Asano River. The serenity of this event, in stark contrast to the lively procession, is deeply moving. Thanks to the Hokuriku Shinkansen, which opened in 2015, the journey from Tokyo to Kanazawa only takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes.
