UNFORGETTABLE TRAVEL EXPERIENCES

AWAIT YOUR CLIENTS IN TURKEY

Dear Colleagues,

I was reminded of the abundant attractions, stunning beauty, and incredible culture of Turkey during my recent visit to this amazing land of rich history, natural wonders, and delectable cuisine.

Beginning with one of the world's most exciting cities, Istanbul, whose new airport immediately impresses visitors. Considered the largest in the world, Magister makes it easy for visitors to meet their guide by directing them to an appropriate exit. One hour later your clients are at their hotel. There have been some changes since I was last here. The Hagia Sophia has been transformed from a museum to an active mosque. Topkapi Palace has been getting a facelift as has the Blue Mosque. The Dolmabace Palace is as magnificent as ever. Theodosius Cistern is open to the public with a light show every hour. For your art enthusiasts, there is a new Modern Art Museum opening soon at the new port facility. And your clients can now take a rooftop tour of the Grand Bazaar!

ISTANBUL RESTAURANTS

I was determined to check out some of the recommended restaurants.

Turk Fatih Tutak - A trendy restaurant whose owner and chef is quite a celebrity. After working in some of the world's finest restaurants he has come home to his roots in Istanbul, and is creating delious and popular dishes.

Lokanta 1741 - An 800 year old Hamam is attached to this lovely restaurant, making it truly unique. One can go to the Haman and then dine in the restaurant.

Pera Palace Hotel - The historic hotel has been popularized recently due to the Pera Palace Netflix series. One should at least stop in for cocktails. And perhaps visit the room where Ataturk stayed, now a museum.

Sarnic - The Turkish word for cistern is the name of this unique restaurant in an actual cistern from the 6th century in the Old City.

Although one could spend a week in Istanbul, it is also nice to include other parts of the country.

Cappadocia is definitely one of the natural and historic highlights in the country. Three nights in perhaps a cave hotel is ideal for exploring the area. On the way from the airport, there is the Caravanserai located near Avanos that is a good rest stop. This is also where your clients may see The Whirling Dervishes Show. Main attractions in Cappadocia are Pashagabi, Zelve, Goreme with its open air museum, and Pidgeon Valley. There are underground cities to discover, hot air ballooning, horseback riding, and plenty of hiking trails.

Bodrum is a wonderful place for a few days of sun and relaxation. It has a lovely marina and the bay is beautiful. It is often called the "St. Tropez of Turkey." A must-see site here is the Underwater Museum located in the Castle of Bodrum. This is also where your clients can begin their Blue Cruise aboard a gulet.
