Welcome to China! Upon your arrival in Beijing, and after clearing customs, you will be met by your guide and taken to your hotel for dinner and overnight. You will stay 3 nights in Beijing, and you will have a chance to see Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Imperial Palace, tour Hutong - Beijings old city and have lunch with a local family, the Great Wall, the Summer Palace, have  a Peking Duck dinner, Lama Temple, Temple of Heaven, and have plenty of free time to "shop 'til you drop".  Beijing is certainly a city to long remember!

Next you will fly to Xian. You will have 2 nights in Xian with a full day of sightseeing including the Terra Cotta Museum to see the famous Terra Cotta Warriors and the Xian Ceramic and Art Workshop. After the evening dumpling dinner, enjoy the entertaining Tang Dynasty performance. In the morning tour the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the ancient City Wall. Following lunch transfer to the airport for your flight to Chongqing.

What is a visit to China, without seeing the pandas? You will visit the Chongqing Panda Zoo to see them first hand. In the afternoon, for World War II buffs, visit the Stilwell Museum, followed by a stop at a local market. Sichuan is famous for their piquant food, and dinner this evening is at a hot pot restaurant (non-spicy alternates available). In the evening transfer to the pier for embarkation on the deluxe Yangtze River cruise ship. All cabins are outside with private balconies.

The MS President #8 is the newest, most modern, and technically advanced ship, which was launched in May of 2013. Featuring technical advances such as double hulls and built of fire proof material (like ocean going vessels).  This ship features 215 over sized deluxe cabins, 13 junior suites and 2 presidential suites for a maximum capacity of 460 passengers served by a crew of 210. All cabins have balconies, bathrooms with showers, flat screen TV’s, and all the amenities you would expect from a 5-star floating hotel. While on your Yangtze cruise, all meals, shore excusions, and entertainment are included.  You will visit the three main gorges and the Three Gorge Dam and sail through the magnificent 5 stage ship lock.  You will delight on an excursion in sampans through the fabulous Shennong Stream, and enjoy a tour to Fengdu.  The crew performance and talent show will be something to remember.

After a short flight from Yichang to  Shanghai, you will transfer to your hotel. Morning sightseeing in old Shanghai, with escorted tour of the Yu Yuan Gardens. Free time on your own for lunch in the old town area. In the afternoon enjoy a tour of the Bund and the modern but historic Shanghai Museum. Dinner at a local restaurant is followed by a performance of the famous Chinese Acrobats! Full free day in one of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities. Enjoy the city on your own, shop ‘till you drop or take one of the offered optional tours such as a full day to Suzhou – China’s “Venice”, the city on canals.Pack your memories away as you transfer to the airport, and bid good bye to China.
